Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation is an important aspect of cancer care today. Because of advances in early detection and multiple combinations of treatments, more and more people with a history of cancer have survived five years or longer, and the numbers continue to increase. Recognition and early intervention by a rehabilitation team can minimize long-term disability caused by cancer and cancer therapy, and can improve your quality of life.
Physical and occupational therapy services are available through The Norma F. Pfriem Cancer Center. Interventions may include pain management, balance and gait training, assistance with immobility, therapy for lymphedema, and more.
After after patients go home, therapy may be continued on an outpatient basis through Ahlbin Rehabilitation Centers located throughout the community.
