About The Heart Institute at Bridgeport Hospital
For nearly four decades, The Heart Institute at Bridgeport Hospital has delivered outstanding, personalized care to thousands of people. Bridgeport Hospital surgeons performed the area's first open-heart surgery more than 35 years ago. We were the first institution in the state to perform balloon angioplasty, in 1981. People with heart arrhythmias are evaluated and treated at our Electrophysiology Department, the first in Fairfield County.
And most recently, we are proud to offer state of the art technologies such as Drug Eluting Stents, Pacemakers and Defibrillators for Congestive Heart Failure, off-pump open-heart by-pass surgery and minimally invasive direct coronary artery bypass. Because of the excellence of our programs, our physicians have been able to participate in national trials for new medications and procedures.
All of these advances mean better care for you, our patient. |
