Arrhythmia Services
Sometimes, heart problems are caused by a glitch in the "electrical wiring" of the heart. Instead of the usual steady beat, the heart has an irregular beat. Irregular heartbeats can be diagnosed and treated in Bridgeport Hospital's Electrophysiology Department.
Some of the procedures offered in our Electrophysiology Department are:
- Tilt table tests
- Radioablations
- Electrophysiology studies
- Noninvasive EPS studies
- Implantable Pacemakers
- Implantable Defibrillators
The department also provides two new therapies: biventricular pacemakers and biventricular defibrillators. These devices are used to help patients with CHF (Congestive Heart Failure). They regulate the pumping action of the heart in order to promote adequate flow of blood through the system.
