Better Breathing Club
Educational and emotional support group for people with chronic respiratory problems. Meetings are held the last Friday of the month at 1:30 p.m. in the hospital’s duPont Board Room. Brain Injury Support Group of CT
Open to all brain injury survivors and their families, this educational and support group meets the third Tuesday of the month, 6–7:30 p.m. at the Disability Resource Center, 80 Ferry Blvd, Stratford. For more information, please call Sue Rhode, occupational therapist, at 203-380-4672.

Heart Beats, Inc

This group is specially designed for, and welcomes, former cardiac patients (from any hospital), their families and friends, and all others interested in topics relation to heart disease.

Since 1981, Heart Beats has provided education, emotional support, and friendship to its members, and has been an important fund-raising group for Bridgeport Hospital's cardiovascular services. Heart Beats educational programs are conducted by leading local and national cardiovascular experts as well as other qualified professionals in the field. These programs focus on all aspects of cardiovascular care, including prevention, cardiac interventions, lifestyle modifications and diet. Look Good…Feel Better
This American Cancer Society program helps women with cancer improve their appearance and self-image through hands-on beauty techniques. Sessions are conveniently offered at Bridgeport Hospital and The Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center in Fairfield. Parking and admission are FREE. Light refreshments will be served. Man-to-Man Prostate Cancer Support Group
For men with prostate cancer and their families. Meets at Spring Meadows in Trumbull, on the third Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. (A light dinner is served.) For more information, please call us, 24/7, at 1-888-357-2396. This group does not meet in June, July or August.

Moving Forward Cancer Survivors Series: Healing the Mind, Body & Spirit
Bridgeport Hospital’s Norma F. Pfriem Cancer Institute, in cooperation with the American Cancer Society, presents “Moving Forward,” a free series of monthly support meetings for adult cancer survivors and their loves ones. All meetings take place on Wednesdays, 5:00–7:30 p.m., at 5520 Park Ave., Trumbull. A light supper is served at each meeting. Advance registration is required. Ostomy Support Group
The Greater Bridgeport Ostomy Support Group is an educational and social support group for patients who have had an ostomy, and their families. Meets at United Visiting Nurse Association, 40 Lindeman Drive, Trumbull, 2:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. the third Sunday of every month, except July and August. PATH (Parents Available to Help)
Provides informational, social, and one-to-one support for parents who have premature babies and young children with medical problems, including those discharged from the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, and for women experiencing high-risk pregnancies. Stroke Support Group
